Review February 2025

We take notice of what our guests say.  Not all our reviews are as good as this, but we just couldn’t resist: Comfort: ***** Cleanliness: ***** Equipment: ****** Location: ***** Property review:  "This is the third time we have stayed here and will return again this year. The cottage is yards from the sea front and under a minute from the centre of the high street with access to several restaurants, an excellent deli, a Co-op and numerous stores. The Cross Keys pub it two minutes walk away. The independent cinema and wonderful Aldeburgh Bookshop under five minutes stroll. The cottage is very comfortable but bear in mind that it is an old building and is set on several levels with steps and stairs. This would make it unsuitable for those with mobility issues. The living room, on the first floor, is comfort[able] and has French windows overlooking the beach. Beds are comfortable and linen is clean and fresh. The kitchen, on the ground floor is well equipped and convenient. The bathroom, also ground floor is of a high spec. There are two pay and display/Ringo car parks opposite, which are reasonably priced, with a maximum star of 4 hours. Payment hours. are 08:00 to 18:00. However, it is usually possible to park for free in the road outside the cottage. It’s a lovey place to stay." Improvements suggested (internal use only):  No Would you recommend this property?  Yes

Holiday cottage with sea view

Crag Cottage looks out directly across King Street and Crag Path to the North Sea.  It is very quiet with little traffic, and there is convenient car parking immediately in front on the street. Aldeburgh has a selection of excellent restaurants. There is also a country club at Thorpeness for tennis and golf, with other golf courses at Aldeburgh and Southwold.
The Alde estuary provides excellent sailing, with outstanding nature reserves at Minsmere and Dunwich for walking and bird watching.  Snape Maltings, venue of the Aldeburgh Festival, has a programme of concerts and also a number of craft shops and restaurants. The rent varies season see our pricing page.  Weekends, and short stays are available in the low season outside school holidays and half terms.
